Fortress Security utilizes Central Station Monitoring which is a company that provides 24/7 services to monitor burglar, fire and residential alarm systems. When your system is activated, a transmission is sent to the central station’s receiver every time a code is entered and an alarm is triggered. Trained staff monitors your systems signals and calls the appropriate authorities in the event an alarm signal is received. If there is no answer or the correct pass code cannot be given, the operator then dispatches the proper authorities. Our operator then begins to contact the people you have designated to be notified of the activation at your premise. 

False alarms happen quite frequently. First of all, do not panic. There is time. If it is a false alarm, enter your disarm code carefully to reset your system.  If this is done in less than a minute,  you will not receive a call from the monitoring station.  If it's any longer than that, wait for the central station to call and give your pass code and inform then it was a false alarm.  The central station can be reached at 800-635-9754 .Do not leave your premise until you have spoken to the central station.  

Preventing a false alarm reduces unnecessary runs for your local emergency services. Here are some tips and best practices to prevent false alarms. 

• Ensure that you are thoroughly trained by security Company on your system and make sure you are comfortable using it. 
• Anyone who has a key to the premise must know how to operate the system. 
• Learn the alarm cancellation process and practice it. 
• Contact Security Company if you acquire a pet or plan to remodel or redecorate. 
• Ask Security Company about regular service and maintenance on your system. 
• Know how to test your system and test it often to ensure proper operation.
